It is said in a somewhat vague way, that the Captain Don Pedro de Alvarado disembarked his troops in the year 1541, on a beach of Banderas Bay: accessible site, with perforated rocks that emerged from the sea, populated with beautiful vegetation, with wild fruits, abundant and very tasty drinking water, good hunting of birds, deer and other edible species, abundance of fish for the table, with high mountains in the background covered with groves, from where crystal clear streams flowed down, ideal place for landing and camping. There is a supposition that, because of such perforated rocks, Alvarado and his soldiers baptized the place with the name Las Peñas. If this is true, the place is none other than the one that is now called Puerto Vallarta. On May 31, 1918, the state congress decreed that Las Peñas would henceforth be called Puerto Vallarta.
The rates are from the airport to Puerto Vallarta depending on the destination and the unit you choose.
